GLX-CELL-5 TurboCell Salt Chlorination Cell For Hayward Pool up to 20000 Gallons

Install was straightforward and started making chlorine right away. Unit is rated for 15K gallon and mine is 6K gallon so I set it to 40% and level is fine.

I installed the Hayward W3T-CELL-15 myself, and it was super simple. The 15-foot cord gave me plenty of room to work with, and it fit perfectly into my system. The saltwater feels much softer on my skin, and I haven't had to worry about harsh chemicals anymore. Great product for anyone looking for an efficient, long-lasting salt chlorinator!

Now that I have this chlorinator running properly it works great.
After the installation, I had a problem where every day when the pump came on the chlorinator would flash "low salt" and "inspect cell" and was not generating salt. After several calls with Hayward support the problem was identified and a work around implemented. I had installed the chlorinator power input to the same source as the pump as per Hayward manual. My pump however, is a Jandy Variflow and the timer is inbuilt. There is 220 volts power on the pump even when it is not running. This means there is 220 volts power on the chlorinator even when the pump is off. It stops generating when no flow is detected and restarts when the pump restarts and creates a flow. The issue is that the memory inside the chlorinator "decays" when there is no flow and the power remains on. When it restarts it needs to be reset to function properly. The workaround was to put an external timer on the chlorinator. It now works great. If you have a pump with an inbuilt timer you need to be aware of this issue

Good and solid product. With current prices on chlorine, didn’t feel like spending $800 on it this year, so have decided to switch to salt. All of my pool hardware is made by Hayward and I am familiar with their products, so that’s why I have decided to get this chlorinator. TAdded salt to the pool and ran the pump for 24 hours prior to turning the chlorinator on. Then adjusted salt content on the chlorinator from the reading I got on my salt water test strip (3,300ppm) and that’s it. I have a salt water pool. When it comes to electrical, I just ordered a power cord and waterproof connector for the control unit, since the unit is located next to an existing outlet.

This is the best replacement salt cell! Works great.The build quality seems very durable, and the system is very efficient. Definitely a must-have for larger saltwater pool systems.

If you have a pool and don’t have a salt/chlorine system I first recommend you look into one. I find they make for easier pool maintenance and less mess with chemicals. Second, if you do have a salt/chlorine system get this dummy salt cell bypass. With a salt/chlorine system the salt cell needs to be cleaned after “x” amount of hours of use (systems and cell size with vary). This dummy cell allows you to disconnect the salt cell and run the pump until you have the time to clean the cell. It will also allow you to remove the cell for repair or if you shut down the pool for the winter months and don’t want the salt cell exposed to winter temperatures. I think any salt/chlorine system owner should have one of these dummy cells. I’m giving it 5 stars because what can you criticize about a piece of PVC tubing.

The quality of the SX180K base is impressive. It’s made from sturdy material, and everything feels solid. The screws and washers are also made from durable materials that won’t rust or wear out quickly.

Our old unit wasn’t keeping up — chlorine levels were dropping too fast. Swapped it out with this one, and while it took a couple of days to start producing at full strength, it’s been running great since. Installation was straightforward, and it dropped right into place with our existing system. Pool water’s clear again, and the chlorine output is right where it should be. Solid replacement if your old cell has called it quits.

Well, it works perfectly. It was an exact match for my old cell and I was able to install it in minutes. It plugged into my system and immediately started working. No errors or issues. The construction is just as good as my old cell and I think it will last. I’m very happy with this new cell.

Works great with pentair salt cells. Saved alot of money using these rather than pentair direct
