Just need to raise and lower it to the height that best suits the average height of the average people that will be using it and the interchangeable screw on handles to shorten or lengthen the handle depending on the size of the piece of wood being split helps immensely with added leverage.

I thought I would prefer something that looks more like my old wooden saw horse, but this is an attractive piece of steel. The advantage of steel seems to be that it can allow the cross bars to be lower and thus less likely to be damaged by my saw. The metal is harder and sharper than wood.

Before receiving the item, I was a little sceptical that it would grip logs well enough. It does. The different length teeth accommodate logs / branches as slim as a couple of inches right up to maybe a foot in diameter and 10-12ft in length. It says on the box that it will handle 150kgs. I've not sawn anything that heavy yet but have no reason to doubt the claim. It's incredibly sturdy, well painted and folds flat of easy stowage.

It’s handy to have around. I cut,split and stack my firewood at 42” then cut to stove length later. I modified the bar clamp to accept bolts. The assembly was ok. Works perfect and the price was too good.
